DIANE
Sorry I’m late! The traffic was just atrocious! What are we talking about?
BETTE
We were talking about how you are always late.
DIANE
That figures.
ANGIE
No, seriously… we weren’t. We were talking about how my scrapbook is just not up to par with the others…
CAROLINE
Angie! I thought we settled that.
ANGIE
No… what we settled was that you’re good at making up sayings.
CAROLINE
And you’re good at paying compliments.
BETTE
That’s true.
CAROLINE
So, Diane… was it really traffic, or were you at another garage sale?
DIANE
Busted. I’m getting that predictable?
BETTE
The important question is… did you find something?
DIANE
Not really. I bought a couple of things. But you know, estate sales are better than garage sales. Heck… I’m just waiting for some people with good taste to die so I can buy their vintage stuff.
BETTE
Suddenly, I’m hoping that you don’t think I’m someone with good taste.
CAROLINE
I know.
ANGIE
How do you know when it’s vintage? I find stuff and I think it just looks like junk.
DIANE
Sometimes it is hard to tell the difference. I just go by what I like. I’m not all that interested in the value of stuff… just if I think it is something that I can use.
BETTE
One man’s trash is another man’s treasure.
ANGIE
Diane… I have to say that your scrapbooks are some of the most interesting and eclectic that I have ever seen.
DIANE
Thank you, Angie.
CAROLINE
Eclectic. You don’t hear that word every day.
DIANE
My husband uses it all the time. That’s what he calls our vacations. He calls them eclectic outings. If I have some paper or stickers that I am trying to use up… then we’ll go out to take pictures that will match the stuff I want to use.
BETTE
What?
DIANE
It’s true. I had some beautiful paper with redwood trees on it… so we took a trip to the Redwood forest in Northern California just so I could take pictures of the giant trees.
ANGIE
Oh! I’ve been there! It’s absolutely gorgeous! Did you do the Avenue of the Giants?
DIANE
Of course. And we went all the way to Victoria, British Columbia to visit Butchart Gardens to match all my pretty flower stickers.
CAROLINE
You take the best trips! My husband would never want to do anything like that. All he ever wants to do is fish.
DIANE
Then you need to scrapbook about fish. Oh… I could do so much with that. There are so many fish stickers. And then you have the photo of the big catch and your husband holding it up for all to see.
CAROLINE
More like … he’s holding his hands like this and saying… this is how big it was! The one that got away!
They laugh.
