Albert enters and sits at the table. He is very distraught and watching something on his laptop. Beatrice enters.
ALBERT
Honey, come look at this.
She crosses over to look at the laptop screen
BEATRICE
Oh my word! Is that….?
ALBERT
Yes! It’s one of mine.
BEATRICE
That’s the house I really liked!
ALBERT
This storm is totally destroying everything. It’s all underwater.
BEATRICE
At least it finally stopped raining.
ALBERT
Doesn’t matter now. It’s too late.
BEATRICE
I hope they all evacuated.
ALBERT
Yes. They did. I don’t know how we will ever recover from this. I should have listened to you.
BEATRICE
To me?
ALBERT
Yes.. you told me: Don’t build that close to the river.
BEATRICE
I don’t remember telling you that, but if I did…
ALBERT
I should have listened.
BEATRICE
Well, you did not know this would happen.
ALBERT
They tell us to prepare for acts of God.
BEATRICE
You don’t even believe in God.
ALBERT

BEATRICE

ALBERT
Oh, Joe went over there and he’s on the hill recording this now.
BEATRICE
This is live? It’s happening now?
ALBERT

BEATRICE
Look at all that water. What will those houses be like once the water goes down?
ALBERT
Oh.. they are ruined. Nothing can be salvaged from this mess. Oh wow! Look at that!!
BEATRICE
It looks like it’s moving!
ALBERT
It has come off it’s foundation.
BEATRICE
That house is floating down the river!!
He closes the laptop.
ALBERT
I can’t watch anymore.
