Welcome to our new site

Welcome to the new Scripts By Warren website.  It doesn’t have the same look, but it is basically the same.  I mostly just copied the same information from the old site.  My old site needed work, and I was hoping to get someone to help me with it soon.  Then WordPress did some updates, and my themes were no longer compatible so it crashed.  They were able to get it up and running again, but not working properly.  No categories or menus to help people navigate through the site.  HostGator set me up with a WordPress team in the Philippines to show me what I needed to do.  So, this time I did it myself rather than hire a professional.  So, it might not look as sharp, but hopefully, it will still function and get the job done.

Credit cards will now be processed through Woo pay.  Woo Commerce was already a part of WordPress, so it seemed simple and easy to just use them.  That means MxMerchant will no longer be doing it.  I still have the PayPal option, but it also now includes Venmo and even a credit card option.  Most of the other pages have the same information as before.  The blogs are gone, but that looked like too much work to bring them over to the new site.  So, this is my first blog.  I have all the scripts but the Spanish language scripts.  In all the years that I had the Spanish scripts, I never sold a single one.

It has been a crazy day.  Well, it has been a crazy 2 weeks, because I have been working on this non stop for most of that time.  I still do my crossing guard job, break to eat and sleep & maybe watch a little TV.  Inputting the scripts took me a few days, and building the photos page took me all day yesterday.  I’m not really a tech savvy guy, and there was the mess ups (like forgetting to update/save and losing an hour’s worth of work and 50-60 photos) which had to be done over.  But I think I learned a lot.  Just wondering if I would remember it if and when I had to do it again.  Then there was the issue of calling back and forth between WordPress and HostGator over and over.  Today, one guy said, “we don’t really do this, but I will try to help you.” ….Instead of just putting me to the people who ‘actually do’ do what I needed done.  Two more phone calls before someone who knew what to do took care of me.

So, my first blog is more of a rant or a vent.  LOL.  Let me close by trying to be a little spiritual.  In the middle of all this work, a scripture came to mind: Proverbs 14:23, which says that in all labor there is profit.  So, I prayed and asked God to take all of this labor I was putting into my new site and please turn it into profit.  Amen.
